Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. The singer's career has taken her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals up to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue an interest in music, as a singer and pianist at church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. In 2007 Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was noticed by the nation during four performances per day at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later asked to sing in the presence of the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
